Nursery's complete and I'm 38 weeks!

We're finished with the nursery...for now. It's still a work in progress since we don't know our baby's gender, and once he or she comes I'll have lots of things to do...pictures to hang, curtains to buy, accessories to add, etc. But there is plenty of time for that and until then, we love it just as it is! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

We've spent this weekend wrapping up last minute things trying to get as prepared as possible. We can't believe it's right around the corner! Its been so nice to have Michael home on the weekends and we've had so much fun getting ready for the baby! Here is a picture of me at 38 weeks....my belly is getting so big and it just sticks straight out!

I can't believe I'm less than 20 days away from my due date. I was 50% effaced at my doctor's appt. yesterday and being only 2 1/2 weeks away, I feel like it could happen any time. Michael and I are SO excited. We went to Babies R Us last night and bought the last minute things for the baby. This is my last full-time week at work and then I'll start cutting back my hours and working from home until the baby comes. I'm looking forward to the extra rest!

I have a friend at work who is getting into newborn and maternity photography, so she came by the house last weekend when I was 36 weeks along and took some maternity photos of me in the nursery for her portfolio. Here are a few....

4 weeks and counting...

I have less than 4 weeks to go, and the countdown has begun... I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable at this point, but I'm really focusing on the positive and enjoying the end of my pregnancy! My last baby showers were this past week and I feel like we have absolutely everything we could ever possibly need or want. Everyone has been so generous and we've had so much fun at every single shower! The nursery is SO cute! I'll post pictures soon. Here are a few pictures from my baby shower last weekend... (I'm 35 weeks in these pictures).

It's been so fun to hear everyone's guesses about whether we're having a boy or a girl! Several people think I'm having a boy, because it literally looks like I have a basketball in my stomach...others think I'm having a girl... Either way, we can't wait to find out! I made the mistake of wearing blue to my last shower so everyone assumed I was having a boy. I guess they don't believe us that we REALLY don't know!!! :) It will be such a wonderful surprise!

My first blog...

Here I am....only 5 weeks away from my due date, so I figured it was a perfect time to start a blog! I can't wait to start posting pictures of our little one, but for now, I can update everyone on my pregnancy and these last few weeks! So far, I've had a textbook pregnancy and have felt really great. Just recently I've started feeling more and more uncomfortable, but that's to be expected as I near the end and continue working full days. My due date is May 11, 2008 and we decided not to find out the sex of the baby. Most people think we're crazy, but we've really enjoyed it and can't wait for the surprise on the big day. We wouldn't have done it any other way. It was a challenge in the beginning deciding how to decorate the nursery, but with my style, it turned out to be pretty easy. I'll post pictures once its more complete, but as far as colors, we've gone with chocolate brown and white in the nursery. After the baby comes we'll add pink or blue. :)

Michael is working like crazy wrapping up tax season, but as soon as April 15 comes and goes we'll be able to focus all of our energy on preparing for the baby! We're also looking forward to resting as much as possible! If he or she decides to come on time, we'll have about 3 weeks after tax season to relax and get last minute things together.

Well, personally, I like pictures more than words, so I want to post just a few of my maternity pictures. I'll probably add more later, but here are a few that were taken by a photographer that I met through my job... Michael and I have taken a lot of snapshots throughout the pregnancy, but it was fun to take a few professional photos as well! I was 32 weeks along when these pictures were taken...
