Getting back in our groove

We are LOVING the warmer weather and happy to be getting back in our groove at the lake.  Friday we arrived right after school and got on the boat as quick as we could.

Saturday - Ella and Easton surfed, all 3 kids plus Michael wakeboarded and I practiced driving the boat.  My goal for this summer is to be able to take the kids out wakeboarding by myself on the days that Michael has to work. This was my first time to drive from start to finish including parking the boat and it went really well.

Ella was hilarious to watch surfing.  She has a blast out there and is constantly talking and being silly in her own little world. It's her happy place for sure.
We told Asher he needs to learn to surf soon so he can live up to his "surfer dude" hair!

On Sunday we waited around for the sun to come out so we could get some more water time in before heading home. Easton has been obsessed with wakeboarding this weekend and wants to get back to his aggression from last summer.  I think he's already there after one weekend and I can't wait to watch him all summer long.

Shelling pecans to snack on the boat.

Mimi's Birthday, Crawfish Boil and Fun at the Lake

We are so excited that the weather is warming up and we are getting back to our regular weekends at the lake. This weekend was the best way to kick it off.

On Friday, my parents came in town and we celebrated my Mom's 67th birthday!  Addison was also with us and the girls had a blast.

On Saturday the girls both surfed before heading back into San Antonio for a birthday party. The rest of us stayed at the lake and had the most fun at the Sutherland's big Crawfish Boil.  Now that my parents have both had the vaccine, they felt comfortable joining us and we had so much fun visiting and even staying up late playing reverse charades and laughing so hard!  The funniest memories from the night....Dub guessing "Squirrel fart" instead of figuring out skunk and his brother guessing "foot big" but not figuring out the actual word of "Bigfoot".  It's funny how your mind can simply draw a blank or focus in only one direction. The whole night was hilarious.

Meanwhile, Ella was back in San Antonio having a fun time with her friends watching Raya and the Lost Dragon and eating Torchy's Tacos.

On Sunday Ella spent the day with the Browns while we stayed at the lake most of the day, in no hurry to get home.  The lodge is back open, so we ate lunch there and Asher pulled his tooth during lunch, hoping for a lake bonus from the tooth fairy!

For memory's sake...I was busted the next morning at 5:30am when I remembered to put money under his pillow.  I thought he was asleep, but had woken up and busted me.  He called me out in a fun way, laughing about it and I tried to play it off but didn't want to lie, so I came clean and told him the truth. He was proud of himself for figuring it out!!
