all caught up!
I’ve been home all week, so I thought I would have plenty of time to update the blog, but that didn’t happen! So, I just spent Ella’s entire nap getting caught up for the past 2 1/2 hours!
Happy 30th Megan Brown!
Today my best friend turned 30 and Michael and I are right behind her!! I will have a 3 week old when I turn 30, so I probably won’t be doing much celebrating and wanted to be sure that we got to celebrate with Megan!
We started last night by having them over for a nice steak dinner! Michael thinks he may have to open a steak restaurant after the AMAZING filets he grilled for us last night!
The girls favorite was the corn on the cob, although all three kids ate everything and loved it all!
Waiting for the Boerckel’s to arrive….
This morning we all met at Magnolia Cafe for another meal…there are 2 new families in this room that I didn’t even know last year but I am so thankful that they have come into our lives as a result of our kids….amazing friendships!
The best part is that we all agree how happy we are at the stage of life! We have accomplished most, if not all of the goals we had set for ourselves and are so thankful for all that we have!!
Happy Birthday Megan – we love you and your family so much!!!!

Decorating for Christmas
Michael and I were off of work the whole week, so it was a great opportunity to turn on the Christmas music and pull out all of our Christmas decorations! I have such great memories of decorating our tree together as a family and helping my mom pull out our decorations every December. Ella is still too young to appreciate it, but it was important to me that she be a part of everything regardless! She had more fun with this one particular box than anything else! Although she did agree to get in the holiday spirit and wear her Christmas hat for part of the time!
After finishing the inside decorations, the next day we headed outside, and Ella and I had a snack picnic with oranges while Michael hung lights on the house. Then we all three walked in circles, hanging lights around the base of our tree! I think it all turned out very pretty!

Thanksgiving and the Longhorns!
We had a very low key but perfect Thanksgiving at Michael’s parent’s house this year. It worked perfectly to have an early dinner and then we all stayed and watched the UT vs. A&M game together. What a great game!!

Hunting Season!
Thanks to hunting season, Michael, Ella and I have made it to my parents house for the past 2 weekends in a row! We’ve had a blast and really enjoyed that quality time with Mimi and Papa. The first weekend Bailey and Hutson joined us and this past weekend we even had the pleasure of being joined by our brother-in-law and nephew!
The first weekend, we had SO much fun with our cousins!
I think Ella would have LIVED in this wagon if we let her! She
She even made sure it keep it extra clean!
You can’t beat smores by the campfire out in the country…complete stillness, quiet, and a GORGEOUS view of the stars!
Ella is in love with my parents cat and so gentle with her! Usually Jake is with us and the cats stay away most of the weekend, but we were unable to take him so they actually stuck around this time!
The boys had fun hunting all weekend. Unfortunately, they had no luck, but fun nonetheless!
Most of all, Ella loved running free in the country, and I took advantage of the pretty scenery and took LOTS of pictures!!!
On the last day, my good friend Elly came over with her daughter. The girls were so cute together! They are about a year apart, and just about the same size!
