Christmas with my side of the family worked out this year to be on New Years Eve and we loved having family in town for the New Year!! Even Bailey and her boyfriend were able to make it, making this the first time in a long time that all 13 of us have been together. Once everyone got to our house, we opened presents, had a casual afternoon and then enjoyed a great New Years Dinner of turkey, ham and all the yummy sides.

New neighbors
My kids have never truly experienced having neighbor kids that they could play with all the time and go back and forth with. They were little when we moved into this house and there have been no other little kids on our street since we moved here 6 years ago. About a year and a half ago, we had the joys of having our best friends close when the Brown's moved into our neighborhood, less than a mile away. What a blessing! Our kids aren't quite old enough to go back and forth on their own, but one day they will for sure!
Then about a year ago, the house directly across the street went up for sale and we prayed for little kids to move in. Our prayers were answered 6 months later when the house finally sold. Turns out, they have 4 little kids and 2 of the boys are the exact ages of my boys. It took no time at all for them to connect and all become best buds. It's such a joy to see them run back and forth and play any chance they get. Not to mention, the parents are awesome and we all enjoy hanging out.
Needless to say, our trampoline and treehouse are used pretty consistently these days and we are loving it! The oldest boy and Easton are playing on the same basketball team now as well.
Pull-up Bar
My parents came into town for New Years Eve, and as usual, we put my dad to work. This time it was helping to install a pull-up bar on the treehouse. The weather all day was amazing and we spent tons of time outside while we could before the freezing cold front came in.
Once Michael's pull-up bar was installed, it turned out so great, we installed another one on the other side of the treehouse for the kids.
Asher confronted his fear of the fireman's pole and came down on his own for the first time ever! Michael was there to catch him, but didn't need to.

The great outdoors
Being outside in December is the best! The boys love these new frisbees that are super light weight and fun to throw.
It melts my heart watching my boys play together and have so much fun.
