Asher & Delaney - TWO at the ZOO

Megan and I hosted a very simple party for our sweet and silly two year olds this year at the zoo!  Delaney's birthday was in early March and Asher's will be at the end of April.  To get the party started, we met the majority of our group at a special exhibit with the bush dogs.

As we made our way over to the carousel, the kids loved seeing all the fish and ducks in the water just below the bridge!

The kids always love this amazing new carousel at the San Antonio Zoo.

After the carousel, with Asher leading the way, we made our way back to our party area and picnic tables where we all enjoyed fresh sandwiches, fruit, animal crackers and cupcakes!

After cupcakes the kids all played in the area around the pond and greenery.  The kids found a real egg and everyone was huddled around it checking it out for a long time with the adults constantly saying "don't touch it!"  Before we knew it, Asher made his way over, walked into the middle of the circle and grabbed it immediately.  He acted like he was going to throw it into the pond, but luckily listened when I asked him to set it down!!  :/

Despite the 3.5 year age difference Carter and Easton are the best of buds!

I think Asher and Delaney had a great time and we appreciate all who came to celebrate our sweet babies!!!

Asher at 23 months

Talking so much....repeats everything we say and puts two words together all the time // has a mind of his own // so difficult to keep up with at the kids activities because he just wants to be free and run around everywhere, play soccer with the big kids, climb stairs, etc. // loves to swim and be in the water // he is great at taking showers but LOVES to take a bath. I can hardly let him take a bath because he is too wild and crazy treating it like a trampoline...showers are much easier with this almost 2 year old // he loves to be outside riding the four wheeler "weewer" or jumping on the trampoline "jump" or doing just about anything outside // has started saying is own name and it's the sweetest.  He sort of adds a "k" sound..."Ashker" or "Ashkie" // getting his own sense of humor and tricks us with little things he does // I still have to keep my refrigerator locked up as he continues helping himself to the fruit drawers // He is so sweet and affectionate but yet still so very rough and just hurtful to other kids sometimes.  This is where we are struggling with him...he will hit or knock over other kids for no reason at all...  :(  He is usually pretty good at saying "sorry" and giving hugs.  // he is fearless and wants to do all the things Ella and Easton are doing // he's not afraid to jump off anything whether you are there to catch him or not.

Feeling Sentimental

I was going through boxes of clothes to pull out Spring and Summer clothes for Asher and started feeling really sentimental when I realized that all of my favorite t-shirts that Easton wore when he was 3 and 4 are already fitting Asher perfectly and he's not even 2 yet!!!

This particular t-shirt was Easton's favorite and he wanted to keep it in his room to wear at home well after he had started growing out of it.  Just a few months later, and now I see it again on Asher.

I found this picture of Easton wearing it exactly one year ago when he was learning to ride his bike. (March 2014)

And again almost 2 years ago soon after Asher was born!  (June 2013)

And one more... (Feb 2013)
