Butterflies

A few weeks ago, we ordered some caterpillars and had fun watching them transform into butterflies!!  3 out of 8 or so survived and Ella was happy to set them free!

Kitchen helpers

Ella used to help me all the time in the kitchen and has always loved it. Easton enjoys it too, but with two I find myself trying more often than not to keep them entertained outside of the kitchen while I cook.  :(  I want to get better about slowing down and letting them get involved any time they want.  They truly love to help and I love for them to see what goes into cooking a good meal at home and for them to be a part of it.

First ever SOCCER practice!!

At exactly 2 years and 11 months Easton got to join his first REAL soccer team!  I definitely thought hard about signing him up so early, knowing this is just the beginning.  For a very long time from now there is a VERY good chance that he will always be a part of a team with practices, games, etc.  A schedule that will keep us very busy I'm sure.  And something that I can't wait for!

But the biggest and most important reason that we signed him up before the age of 3 is because of his pure LOVE and ENJOYMENT of playing ball and being involved in sports of any kind. He has been so proud to talk about his "soccer teen" and definitely knows there is a big difference between his soccer team and the soccer shots group that he has been involved with at school for the past year.

March 21 was his first practice and he was all decked out in the soccer gear that he received for his birthday last year.  I laughed at myself at how many Academy's I went to the week before trying to track down the perfect shin guards and right size cleats for this little guy!

I think he had the most fun at practice before everyone showed up and he was just kicking the ball in and out of the goals.  And once Daddy showed up, that was the icing on the cake!  No matter how much he has been working, Michael wasn't going to miss out on this for anything and it meant the world to Easton that he got to spend a full hour playing ball with Daddy.

I also love that Easton is playing on the same team as his 1 month older cousin, Weston!  I'm looking forward to watching this team of 3 year olds this year to see just what they do.  As long as Easton enjoys it and has fun, that's all I hope for at this age!
