Knows well what "hot" means and says it when her food is either temperature hot or spicy hot and also when the water is hot - 18 1/2 months
Started using "time out" to discipline Ella. - 18 months 2 weeks. It started because she was testing me with the tree ornaments after being told many many times to stop pulling them off the tree. She thought "time-out" was funny at first until I kept sitting her back down in the same spot and reminding her she was in time out and then she started crying, but not real bad. As soon as I let her get up, she stopped crying. After attempting again, just minutes later to pull ornaments off the Christmas tree, I asked her if she wanted to go back to time out and she said "no" and stopped doing it. A couple of hours later, she was back at the tree, pulling on ornaments. I asked her if she wanted to go back to time out, and she walked over to the same spot, debated between two spots, trying to remember exactly where she sat last time, then sat her self down in the corner. Once again, she thought she was being cute and funny until I made her stay there and then she cried again, just as before until I let her get up.
