One more family night!!

It was important that we fit in one more family night before McKenna left for college in Missouri!!  Dinner at Bigz and dessert at Bahama Bucks was perfect.

Man, are we going to miss her!!!  Ella and I have had multiple conversations about college because of McKenna and I love Ella's questions and watching her little mind work as she learns so much about college at such a young age.  She has certainly been blessed with an amazing cousin as her role model.  

A few funny things she has said that I want to remind her of when SHE is going off to college.  

Ella: "Wait, so McKenna can do whatever she wants at college??" 

Me: "Yes, Ella.  That's why it's so important that Daddy and I teach you how to be responsible and make good choices."

Ella: "But does she have to ask if she can go outside?"

Me: "Nope."

Ella: (in complete surprise) "But then her mommy might not know where she is!!"

Me: "That's right.  Now that McKenna is in college, there are a lot of times when her Mommy won't know exactly where she is."

Ella: "Well, when I'm in college I'm going to call you all the time to tell you where I am."

Ella: "College is 4 years????  Wow, that's even longer than kindergarten or first grade!!  So she's going to have FOUR birthdays there!!"

And then she calculated that she will be going into 5th grade when McKenna finishes college, Easton in 3rd and Asher just starting Kindergarten!!!

Sea World at night

I really wanted to check out the night shows at Sea World with the kids before school started so we managed to make it work one day during the week.  I had never been in the afternoon before and it was definitely HOT but it was fun!

We caught the last Shamu show and Ella REALLY wanted to get wet, so her and I sat at the front of the splash zone and got soaked.  Then I left halfway through to rush off with Easton so he could catch his favorite ride, Shamu Express TWO more times before it closed at 9pm.  It was such a fun night!

Sports Camp

August 5 - 8, 2014

This summer the kids joined Carter and Addie and became part of the Mighty Muscles group and had a blast at the Dominion Sports Camp!  This was Easton's very first camp and it was a great way to start.  They got to play basketball, soccer, tennis, swim and even a rock climbing wall.  The last day they had a small performance to the song "who let the dogs out."

Summer Reading

Ella recently completed the San Antonio public library reading challenge so she received a personalized certificate from the Mayor and a free book of her choice.  I am so proud of her and her reading!!

 

Because she has shown such responsibility and a love of reading this summer, we decided it was also the perfect time to get her her very own library card.  I loved how excited she was about it!  And as we walked out of the library she asked how old she had to be to have her own wallet to put it in. :)

We are two of her biggest fans and supporters!!

Gymnastics banquet

We are so proud of McKenna and all that she has accomplished.  While attending her gymnastics banquet it was awesome to see her "gym family" rave on her all night as well!!

And our other niece, sweet little Preston seems to be moving right along in her footsteps and we can't wait to see all that is in store for her!

Fiesta Texas!!

At the end of the school year, Ella participated in a reading challenge and earned a FREE ticket to Fiesta Texas.  I got a sitter for the boys and just her and I spent the day there along with our best friends!  For her first visit to Fiesta Texas, we certainly got our money's worth as we stayed from 10:30am - 7:00pm and enjoyed tons of rides along with the water park.  It was such a fun day!!
