Often times it's just more fun to put the camera down and jump into the action! If I want my kids to be adventurous and enjoy getting dirty, it's our job as their parents to set the example!

Sleep
At 2.5 years old, Asher's sleep habits are pretty good, but not the best!
I've noticed recently that if he gets a longer or later nap during the day, he will not go to bed at night! On the weekends, I've had to really watch his naps because he loves long naps and its so hard to wake him up when he is so peaceful!! However, we pay for it at night. And no matter how late he goes to bed, he is and has always been an early riser! He'll hardly ever sleep past 6am. Now that he is no longer confined to a crib, he gets out of bed regularly or messes with Easton at night if he's not tired. Luckily Easton is an amazing sleeper and can pretty much sleep through all of Asher's shenanigans. Lately, since Asher doesn't have his own bed, I'll just pull him out of Easton's room and let him stay up a little later while Easton falls asleep and then I'll take Asher to bed a little later and lay with him for ten minutes or so until he falls asleep.
At least I remember these phases of getting out of bed with the other two and I know that one day soon it will pass! This is just part of the transition of going from a crib to a big boy bed. And for the most part, he gets shorter naps at school and will often still go straight to bed around 7:30pm with Easton.

Crib Party!
Asher hasn't been sleeping in his crib for the past 3.5 months, however, since he's been sharing a bed with Easton and we have not bought a new big boy bed yet, there was no rush to take down the crib. With a new bed on the way, this weekend it was finally time to take down the crib after 7.5 years. But not before one last CRIB PARTY!

South Texas Corn Maize
Tax season is over and this weekend we were able to enjoy some fun Fall activities together as a family as well as with our extended family...the Browns!
We went to the corn maize in Hondo, TX 3 years in a row in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Then for some reason we took a 3 year break but made it back again this year with all SIX of our kids! A lot had changed in the 3 years that we missed and we loved all the new stuff as well as the old!
The jumping popper is always a huge hit.
Usually it's our girls that are matching, but today it was Megan and I, completely unplanned! Despited the 80 degree temperatures in late October, we were both determined to wear our jeans and boots. :)
The kids all decided they really wanted to try out the 15 minute horse trail ride. I was a little surprised that Ella and Easton both wanted to, but I was thrilled to see them jump on their horses with no fear and they loved it.
Since the kids were always so little when we came before, we had never actually done the big corn maize, but with popcorn in hand, we headed in...
An hour later, we finally found our way out, legitimately getting lost for part of that time!
Then it was time to check out the pumpkin patch! There were lots of fun pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
Asher and Delaney quietly napped in the shade for a large part of the afternoon.
Another fun day and we were completely wiped out afterwards!
