Such a happy little boy...he turned 18 months on Oct. 24. He's getting so big, but still feels so little in my arms. He is still my little baby who loves to be held and snuggled and wants his mommy, but yet he's also independent, stubborn, and content by himself.
This is such a FUN age with him. He makes me giddy happy and I would not change a thing about this stage. I just want to bottle it up!
He has started saying "CHHEEEESE" when I pull out my camera!
He points out all little facial and body parts now and one of my most favorite things is to be holding him close, face to face, while he points out my nose "no", mouth "mou", eyes (as he pokes my eye out), hair, ears (as he searches through my hair to find both ears), belly, etc. I love it!
He is talking a lot and will try to repeat almost any words. He has FINALLY started saying "mommy" on a regular basis and it is the sweetest of all! That little stinker would not say it for the longest time. Then he started saying it very deliberately while touching my chest, and now he says it a lot. I love to hear it.
He is still a little left thumb sucker and is super attached to the same two blankies...his frog and bear. He flips his blankie bear around until he finds the tag underneath and as soon as he finds it, the thumb instantly goes into his mouth while he rubs the tag. When he carries his blankies around, he often carries them both by their tag, so sweet.
He really loves books! He didn't seem to be as interested in them early on as Ella was, but he sure is now! His favorites are Born to Read, But not the Hippopotamus, The Napping House, and The Going to Bed Book, Elmo, and more.
He is of course, still obsessed with Ella, and screams her name all the time! He just watches her to figure out what he needs to do that is an exact repeat of whatever she is doing! Even if that means, twirling in a tutu, he wants to be right there with her! They certainly "fight" and have their moments but they love each other so much and bring so much joy to each other's lives. The most fun they have together is running around the house and playing peek a boo with each other. Their laughter is ridiculous! When I get him out of bed in the mornings, often the very first word out of his mouth is "Ella?"
He is doing great a feeding himself and has just started eating cereal with Ella in the mornings at school. It's so cute to see him sitting like a big boy eating cereal with milk and a spoon right next to his big sister. I remember exactly when Ella herself started eating cereal at school. Where has the time gone?
He still LOVES his milk and he gets MAD if I tell him he can't have any! I have to watch it or he'll completely fill up on milk if I let him.
And speaking of school, he moved up a week after his birthday to the 18-24 month class with Ms. Chayo. Following in Ella's footsteps and doing great.
This little boy loves loves loves any and all balls! He certainly seems to be a little athlete, and is happy to have any ball in his hand or to be throwing anything and everything! He also loves to be outside! These two things are not new, as he has loved outside and balls almost since day 1, and I have written it several times. An entire post devoted to balls is necessary to express the natural instinct that he has. (coming soon). I think his most favorite place is probably Bigz. A kid-friendly burger place that has great food and a huge wide-open astro-turf area for the kids. He can run free and there are balls being thrown and kicked in every direction. He is in heaven and continually makes new friends to play ball with!

He definitely has a stubborn side and if he gets mad about something he has an urge to throw something or shove it away even if he wants it! But he quickly gets over it and is actually the sweetest little boy! He melts my heart every single day with his kisses or his looks, or just his sweet hugs and the way he backs up and just plops right into your lap. Right at 18 months he bit Ella and so I put him in time out for the first time. We're not using it a lot, but he knows when he's in trouble and often times if I just tell him "No" about something, he walks himself over all by himself and goes and sits in the corner. :) He has also started the fake cry as needed and he knows how to pout but he usually gets over it quicker than it started! so funny.
He is no longer such a grump in the mornings! He is sleeping 11-12 hours at night and has started waking up much happier than he was about a month ago.
He loves to brush his teeth! I had to buy a second stool for the bathroom and now he jumps up there every night and says "brush!"
He has always been bad about throwing things, everything, and he is still not getting better. He is such a lover of balls and of course we're always encouraging him to throw balls, so I think now it is working to our disadvantage. Even his teachers say he throws everything. Unfortunately that includes food and literally everything! One day he'll stop that, right?
There are so many things that are so special about Easton, I could never list them all. He is such a kind-hearted little boy with a completely natural and instinctual love of sports and outdoors. He amazes me everyday and its literally been a blast watching him over these past 18 months. I can't wait to see what is in store for him, but right now I just want him to remain my baby for as long as possible!!!
