First off, Go Horns! A bowl game win was a great way to start the night.
But honestly, the best part was having everyone together at our house on New Year’s Eve. It brought me so much joy and gratitude. As the kids get older, I’m realizing just how special these simple nights are—and with 2026 being Ella’s graduation year, it definitely hits with a little extra emotion.
The kids played spades while Dad cooked his amazing filet mignons, followed by more cards, Easton and Alyssa finishing the Stranger Things finale, and fireworks in the cul-de-sac with our neighbors. Ella and Thomas headed back to his house to ring in the New Year with his family—such a sweet way to close out the year.
I’m excited for all that’s to come in 2026—so many big things ahead.
Ella will graduate high school and head off to college. The kids are all celebrating major milestone birthdays too: Ella will turn 18...an official adult, Easton will turn 16 and start driving, and Asher will turn 13…a teenager!
I’m already preparing my heart for these big changes. They’re some of the most amazing moments of our lives, but they come with so many mixed emotions too.
