Halloween Trick or Treating

Two ninjas and an Indian.

This Halloween wasn't about trying to fit in all the things or check off a list of things to do. We just let the kids be kids, plan whatever costumes they wanted, coordinate with friends and let them run as fast as they wanted while trick or treating without making them stop for pictures. We didn't make it to a pumpkin patch or carve pumpkins this year but we enjoyed the slowness and fit in the things that were most important to us.  For this season and this time, it was just what we all wanted.

Neighborhood Halloween Party and Hayride

For months, the boys have been scheming with the Harrell's that they wanted to ALL be ninjas for Halloween. Their dream became a reality and they were all very excited about their matching costumes and most importantly, the cool weapons that came with it.  They are all such sweet boys!

We offered up our cul-de-sac and front yard for the Halloween party this year and it was a blast!  I always love catching up with neighbors at this annual event.

Meanwhile, Ella was playing in a 3v3 Boo Fest soccer tournament with her team.  She too was having a blast with her friends and got to trick or treat on the field in between games!

My first Haunted House

I was actually really nervous but excited to try something different with Michael.  It was the "jump out and scare you" type of scary but nothing that will give me nightmares so it was all good!  We had so much fun and I'm so glad I was willing to step out of my comfort zone to try it out.  I was clenched to Michael the whole time and we laughed our hearts out at different times.  It was a great date night!

Happy Half Birthday to the boys!

The boys are officially 6.5 years and 9.5 years old today! As I was snapping their picture, I noticed an unfamiliar gap in Asher's bottom teeth to which we checked it and quickly realized that he had his FIRST ever loose tooth!  He is ecstatic!

UT v Kansas

October 19, 2019

The morning of the game, we made a last minute decision to get tickets to the UT v Kansas football! Ella had a 3:00pm soccer game in Austin and it worked out perfectly to head to the Stadium immediately after for the 6:00pm game. This was Asher's first time to a big football game and our first time to go together as a family.

We thought it would be a blowout but it ended up being a very close game...luckily we pulled out the win with 4 seconds left to end the game 50-48.  The close game made it exciting and fun to watch.  Asher was so excited to see Bevo and was totally taking it all in. Overall we had the best time! 

I was impressed how much Easton was into the game and watched closely the entire time.  He knows the game so well!
