Delaney & Asher

September 26, 2013

6.5 months and 5 months exactly....already telling secrets!

Ella's first day of Kindergarten!

August 26, 2013

The day we've talked about and she has looked forward to for a long time...the first day of Kindergarten was finally here!!!

It was still dark when we left our house that morning so I snagged a few more pics at the school!

Ella was insistent on writing everything herself on her chalkboard.  I love her handwriting.

Picking a new pair of school shoes caused a lot of drama.  I was reminded why she only had ONE pair all summer...flip flops.

I showed her Lands End and Pottery Barn kids online and she picked her backpack all on her own.

She remembered the school from meet the teacher a couple of nights before and walked us right to her classroom and went to her desk.  Such a big girl.

And just like that, we said goodbye and left.  We weren't sad, neither was she.  She was such a big girl.    The back of her chair faces the doorway and after big hugs and goodbyes I watched and she never looked back for us.  I was so proud of her.  She still hadn't talked to or looked at her new teacher but I knew as soon as we were gone that would quickly change!

My day at home was lonely...I sure missed her and couldn't stop thinking about how her day was going and what she was doing.

When I picked her up the teacher said she had a great day.  She was pretty quiet after school but said everything was good!  She kinda just acted like it was no big deal.  The playground was her favorite part!

5 months

September 24, 2013

My little Asher boy is 5 months old!  Such a sweetie and this past month has been wonderful of course!

He is chewing is hands CONSTANTLY!!!  And drooling all over the place!

He still loves his pacifier but after it gets knocked out, he sucks his two middle fingers to fall asleep and often while he is sleeping. He only chews on his thumb sometimes, but is no thumb sucker.

He is such a happy baby and is always smiling.  Even Ella is always commenting on how happy he is and that he never cries.  He is also really ticklish and it's very easy to get a big laugh out of him.

He loves to play with his toys and is super content in his chairs...loves the bouncy seat still, the bumbo and his exersaucer!  He is really using his hands a ton to reach for and play with toys.

Asher is nursing 5 times a day and sleeping 11-12 hours at night.  During the day he eats every 3 (sometimes 4) hours.  He has not tried any cereal or solid foods yet.

He sleeps all over the place in his crib.  I haven't officially seen him roll from his tummy to his back but he does it when he sleeps.

He definitely has some crazy hair, and ranks right up there with Ella as a baby when is comes to the craziness!  I'm starting to feel like it could use a trim/clean up, but I just don't have the heart to do it yet. I love his crazy baby hair too much!!

Current nicknames (all came straight from Easton's mouth and then stuck with the rest of us): He started with Asher Pasher little bit Pasher, then just Asher Pasher, then it changed to Ashee Peeshies, and then often just Ashee.  :)

I seriously can't get enough of him and am so very thankful to be spending my days with him.  Love you Asher!

Hook 'Em // Celebrating 10 years

A few weeks ago we planned a night in Austin with our college buddies to see a football game and to celebrate our 10 year reunion from college!  It's sad to say that I think it's been 4 years since we were all  together, but we had a blast and can't wait for the next trip which is already in the works.

We started with lunch at Hula Hut, an old favorite of course!  Then we went downtown early to tailgate and walk around.

It was so fun to walk around the business school, where we ALL met and reminisce of our college days.  And of course, where it all began for Michael and I!!!

A couple of weeks before the game, our friend who bought the tickets got a random call from stub hub inviting us to attend their VIP event where we would get access to many fun things, but most importantly, we could go out on the field before the game!!  It was SO MUCH FUN!  I used to go out on the field in college, but we've barely made it back for any games, so it was fun that this one was extra special.

Michael got to throw a football back to a few of the guys that were practicing and he LOVED it!

baby lips

September 17, 2013

Even though I had just taken sleeping baby pictures, when I walked into to Asher's room to wake him up from an evening nap and saw these gorgeous lips peeking through his crib I had to turn back around and get my camera!  You can never have too many sleeping baby pictures, in my opinion.

Toys!

September 10, 2013

Asher is really diggin' his toys now!  He's at that precious age where he is learning to use his hands but when they come together they don't always grab what was intended and often just grab empty air.  He also grabs your face when you come in for a kiss...my favorite!

Just watching

September 1, 2013

Easton was very content to just watch all the action on the tubes!
He kept yelling, "Hold on tight, Ella!"

Finger painting

September 8, 2013

The last time we did this was 2 years ago and the kids had a blast so I hope it's not another 2 years before we do it again!

Finger painting somehow turned into a paint party/slip mat and Ella kept yelling, "this is the funnest day ever, I want to do this every Saturday and Sunday!!"  She was cracking me up! :)

Asher was such a good little boy happily watching from the side and somehow managed without even a smudge of paint on him!
