A few months ago, Ella suddenly became obsessed with a pink pig stuffed animal that she has had since she was an infant. It has always been a sweet, soft stuffed animal, but never one that she carried around or cuddled with, until recently. She no longer sleeps with her little blankies but she always wants "Piggy" now and she loves to share him with Asher too.
9. Creature of habit
Ella has always been a creature of habit! She prefers to keep things just as they are rather than making changes. She doesn't like for me to change her room, she likes to wear her hair basically the same all the time...at seven years old that is usually a single braid or a low pony tail. And she often chooses the same outfits to wear over and over again...I often have to encourage her to wear or try something new.
8. Flipping, climbing, gymnastics tricks
Ella is constantly climbing or hanging or flipping or something...sometimes I feel like she cannot sit still! We have taken a break from gymnastics for the summer but she still has her jungle gym at home and loves to perform all her many "tricks". Ella and Daddy have a whole series of "flips" that she does with him and its adorable. It's "their thing" and Ella has to do at least a couple of flips before bed any time that Daddy is home.
7. Addison and all her girlfriends
At seven years old, Ella is gaining a real appreciation for her friends. She seems to be more like me where she values a few really close friends. Her love for Addie is stronger than ever and she still gets giddy with excitement when she gets to see and spend time with her.

5. Being a big sister
The role of big sister suits her well but I do have to tell her quite frequently that she is not the mommy! She is amazing with Asher and takes such great care of him.
4. Mommy and Daddy
Ella loves to spend time with us and she especially loves to have her own time with us without her brothers. Quality time is really important to her and she hates to miss out on things. Her and Daddy have special things they do together including all of their crazy flips and tricks in the pool and playing a fun logical thinking game every night that he tucks her into bed. She loves to cuddle, sit in my lap, give lots of hugs and kisses, and hold hands. I love how affectionate she is and how much she loves to be with us!
3. Being outside: mostly swimming right now!
With a May birthday, it's no surprise that swimming is high on her list and this is the perfect time of year to start breaking in our pool on a daily basis! She is loves playing in the water with Easton and especially seems to love helping out Asher now that he is starting to swim as well. Ella also likes to be outside riding her bike, her scooter, and exploring with her brothers.
2. Reading, Writing and Journaling
Ella is a great writer and still loves writing regular letters to her Mimi! For Easter she got a "Mommy and Ella" journal where she and I write letters back and forth and for her birthday she received a couple of journals that she has been writing in on a regular basis as well. It's fun to see her grab a journal, get cozy and just start writing.
I love to see Ella curl up with a good book. She has slowed down a little recently in her reading, but I look forward to finding some great books for her to dive into this summer. All it takes is a little competitive motivation or a great book to catch her attention and she starts reading non stop!
1. Art
Ella LOVES art and has been very consistent for a couple of years now that she wants to be an artist when she grows up! She is great at drawing people, mermaids, little animals and bugs. Any and all art is just something she loves to do!
