Ella's Guitar Recital

April 28, 2018

Ella has been taking guitar lessons for about a year and a half now and has really enjoyed it.  She and her cousin Payton have the same teacher so this is their second time to perform together.  Ella was nervous this time because it was her first time to be singing with a microphone, with Payton as the main singer.  Ella did great and I love hearing her sweet voice.

With our schedule feeling bit overloaded and knowing summer will be crazy, we are taking a break from guitar but Ella hopes to start back again in the Fall.

Easton's 8th Birthday Party

April 28, 2018

Exactly 1 week after Asher's party, we had almost the exact same party at our house for Easton.  Their birthdays are almost always combined and since I had to cancel their parties last year for one of my ear surgeries I was feeling extra generous this year in offering them each their very own party! :). I love that they both still want to have simple parties at our house with just a couple of friends and it's really easy.  For Easton, we decided to opt out of a cake and instead had Kona Ice show up to serves sno cones to all of the kids. That was really fun!

Even Easton's 2nd grade teacher showed up for the party!

Ella's SPRING 2018 Soccer Season with Classics Elite 07 Girls

Even though our girls are all 08s (born in the year 2008), they are playing up this year against the 07 teams.

The actual season was supposed to kick off in February but the first games on February 25 were rained out so played our first games March 3 and 4.  We drove to Austin for the first game and it was extremely WET!  We were so thankful that my sister and kids came to watch despite the yucky weather!  The girls lost an exciting game 1-2.

The next day back in San Antonio we had better weather but still struggled to pull out the win.  We lost another close and exciting game 2-3.  Ella played goalie the second half and did incredibly well. We found out later that she was blocking a full-size goal and still didn't let anything past her.  I always get nervous with goalie.  On another note, I can't believe how much the boys look the same size in the photo below!

The last weekend of Spring Break we were back in Austin for another exciting game and the girls had a great win against a team that had previously beat them. Of course, we had to stop for ice cream after the game to celebrate!

Our last game in Austin and Blake brought Tiger so the boys were in heaven walking her and playing with her before the game started.  Ella was in great position after another teammate's shot was blocked and she scored a beautiful goal. I loved seeing her teammates celebrating with her.  We won 4-2 and wrapped up our Austin traveling for the season.

March 31
Easter Weekend they had a soccer game in town...they tied 4-4.  Ella played goalie for half of the game.

And this was the end of the official regular Spring Season for Everton.  All of their games were squeezed into the month of March for a pretty short season.

We celebrated the season at Power Park Ninja!  The perfect place for these fun girls.
