16 months!

15 months seemed to come and go and now almost 10 days ago, Ella Pearl turned 16 months old! I looked back through pictures from this month and found several cute ones that I wanted to post.
Right at 15/16 months of age, Ella has become such a big girl and little miss independent!
As always, she has a HUGE personality and is constantly making us laugh.

When we went to Abilene last month, we brought home my old stool for Ella to use in her bathroom. The stool is very special because my dad made it and a very special family friend painted it and personalized it. My sister and I each have one that we used as kids and its fun to have them back! Ella loves it. She stands there in the mornings and at night to brush her teeth while I fix her hair.

She has gotten pretty good at "multitasking" while standing on her stool...

Anytime I scoot her directly to the table without using the booster tray, she makes sure to get comfortable, always propping her foot up on the table.

She loves to push and/or pull things all over the house.

She loves the piano right now and she plays very gently. She hardly ever bangs on the keys like we always expect!

She is SO tall! Everyday it seems like she can reach farther and farther on the top of the cabinet and she is SO close to being able to open doors. We have to be careful because anything that we set near the edge of the cabinet, it is almost immediately in her hands!
She loves her toys and this one in particular was a great buy (especially on Craigs List!)

She has fun making messes and anything new from the pantry or kitchen that we let her play with can certainly keep her entertained for a while! She found this box of fruit snacks when we opened the pantry and it probably kept her entertained for at least 30 minutes while we cooked dinner! She was literally on her belly swimming in them at one point! :)

Even though she likes to make a mess, she also LOVES to clean up and is a great helper!

There is nothing about this girl that we don't absolutlely love!

Happy 16 months sweet Ella Pearl!!

Birthday Parties!

In September we had 2 really fun birthday parties that happen to fall on the same day!

First, our friend Laney turned “Two and the Zoo”!  Her party was complete with a full petting zoo in her backyard, pony rides, and face painting!!

She and Ethan had so much fun feeding the animals!  I only realized later that not only had they thrown a ton of food in the animal pen, it was also all over Ella’s mouth!!

Ella thought she wanted to ride the pony, but soon changed her mind and decided that she would much rather just pet him.

Ella always stayed close to me, even when I was getting my arm painted…such a sweetie with her mommy!

At the end of the party, she took a very strong liking to this sweet baby goat.birthday parties 073 birthday parties 071 There was also a photographer at the party that snapped this cool picture of Ella!

After the “zoo”, we headed over to the pool to celebrate Miss Sophia’s 6th birthday party!!  Such a sweet little girl with a sweet family.

Daddy even took Ella down the BIG slide at the Spectrum pool!  She loved it and did great.  In the 3rd picture she looks upset, and she was, but ONLY because she lost her shoe….Uncle Blake to the rescue!  :)

Labor Day at the Lake

Labor Day 2009 was spent at Lake LBJ with Michael’s family.  It was a nice break and we had tons of fun with our family!  Ella needed some good quality time with her cousins and she loved it!!  This was only Ella’s second trip to the lake but already she seemed much more comfortable out on the boat.  The only thing she didn’t like was having to wear a life jacket, but she learned she had no choice, so she would often just rest on me and relax rather than fighting with the bulkiness of her life jacket.

Early mornings watching the boats come in…

We all had lots of fun on the wave runner.  Ella cried when Michael first put her on it, and her poor face shows how scared she was, but in no time she was loving it and even drove un-assisted…
