Sweet smiles for mommy!

When we ask Ella if she wants to hold Easton, I think she automatically associates it with taking a picture! ;) She couldn’t decide where she wanted to sit to hold him and kept choosing places that weren’t conducive to her holding a baby, such as her little bitty wooden rocking chair, or the bottom step. Without being prompted, she finally just put her head next to his, said cheese, and went on with what she was doing. I was able to snap a quick picture of their side by side faces, something I’ve been trying to do for a while and they certainly look like siblings!

Sweet siblings

Saturday morning we were making pancakes and Easton was sitting in his bouncy on the island. Ella had her stool and was helping cook as usual. While we weren’t paying attention, she took her stool, pushed it over to her brother, and just started holding his hands and talking to him. Michael pointed it out to me and I was able to grab my camera. She is SO sweet with him. I love how he is smiling at her in the first picture

The other morning he was awake before her and so I took him into her room when I woke her up for school. She got SO excited to see him and yelled “Easton Michael” and then gave him a BIG hug and kiss. These may be little things but it means the world to me that she has adjusted so well!!

Looking back at my pictures of both Easton and Ella at exactly 2 months of age, I couldn’t help but post a couple of more comparison pictures!

Easton is 2 months old today!

Looking back at his 1 month picture, he has changed so much!  I love that chubby belly and little round face! 

Easton, this past month with you has been wonderful and full of even more firsts!  You had your first trip to Mimi and Papa’s house and your first trip to the lake and you were such a good traveler both times!  You didn’t complain when we dragged you out in the heat to take your sister swimming and you are generally happy and sleeping anytime we take you anywhere! 

You like to see new things and have started showing an interest in some of your toys that we rattle in front of you.  You are very happy in your bouncy seat and when I add the toy attachment you smile and talk and squeal out loud! 

Just last week you sat in your bebe pod chair for the first time!  You need a little more neck control, but you are still small enough so that your neck rested on the back a little and you did pretty good!

You also like your swing and it never fails that you fall asleep.  I prefer for you to sleep in your bed, but your sister can be a little loud and time consuming so occasionally we need to rely on the swing and it’s great! :)

You still sleep in our room, but this week I’ve started putting you down for all naps in your room so that you are used to it.  I’ll probably move you up to your own room when I go back to work.

  

Ella loves you more and more each day!  One day when she was home sick she was watching me talk to you and I was saying “Hi Easton Michael”.  She was repeating it and ever since then she now calls you Easton Michael, or sometimes Baby Michael, or sometimes just Michael.  It’s so funny.  I guess Michael is just easier for her to say.  The other day I was carrying her like a baby and she said “Ella baby Michael”. 

Even though Ella is rough and tough and pretty crazy a lot of the time, she is always so sweet and gentle with you!  The other day when I was nursing you, she came over to the couch and hugged your legs and laid her head on you and said “my baby, my easton michael”. 

You have awesome hair just like Ella!  I can’t wait to see what it does and how it changes over time.

I have been a little concerned that your head is getting really flat in the back, and your hair style certainly doesn’t help the way it looks! :)  But look at that precious little profile and those sweet lips!

You  have some big fans!  Your cousin Hutson declared you as his best friend before he even met you.  However, he said he had met you in the pictures! :)  And of course, Carter and Addie ADORE you!  Just check out this post and you’ll understand just how much they love you!  

Overall Easton, you are an amazingly good  baby and I am so IN LOVE with you!  I too love you more and more each day and when you look at me and smile my heart literally melts and I just can’t stop kissing you!  As you’ve gotten a little bigger, you now look right into my eyes when you nurse and you often just stop and smile at me.  I love it so much!!  I have only 3 more weeks at home with you before I go back to work and I want to soak up every moment of you!

Happy 2 months to the most handsome boy! 

Yes, you are a little BOY, but I can’t help but think you look adorable on Ella’s hot PINK couch! 

   

Girls will be girls!

Ella and Addie love every minute that they get to spend together! The lake is perfect because they are together non-stop and they are just like sisters. As they are getting older it is so cute to see them roll around and giggle and laugh with and at each other!

Spending this much time together is also the perfect opportunity to wear some of their MANY matching outfits! We didn’t even have a chance for them to wear all the ones we planned even though we changed them several times each day! Megan did a great job documenting the coordinating outfits that they wore throughout the weekend: click here to see!

Easton and Ella at the lake

Easton was perfect…he slept a ton, enjoyed being outside with everyone and was overall extremely laid back. He made it very easy and we didn’t have to hold back on his behalf at all! He certainly wasn’t lacking for attention over the weekend. As evidenced by the multiple pictures, Carter and Addie are obsessed with our sweet Easton!

Ella too…she is always great at the lake and this weekend was the same! She has tons of fun and is pretty reserved around the water. I love exposing my kids to new things and fun activities so I’m extremely thankful that we have friends who enjoy sharing their lake house and amenities with us! :)

Fathers Day at the Lake

We were so excited when Megan & Blake invited us back to the lake and were anxious for Easton’s first trip there! It happened to fall on father’s day weekend which was perfect since being at the lake is one of Michaels’ most favorite things to do! We spent the whole weekend outside in the water and sun!

In addition to good times with Dad, it was a great weekend enjoying our kids and leaving all other responsibilities at home.
