First Day of School at the SAME school (Ella: 5th Grade, Easton: 3rd Grade, Asher: Kindergarten)

August 27, 2018

The kids all jumped out of bed and were so eager for their first day!  It was pure excited and happiness as we talked about what a special year it would be having them all at the same school for the only time in their entire education career.

Ella would be on the school announcements that first day and the first 5 weeks of school so we had to leave for school before the sun came up.

The kids all enjoy being early and were excited to get to their classrooms.  Asher was excited to get started right away with his first project of putting stickers on his name. It was a quick good-bye and he couldn't have been happier to be in Kindergarten, officially.

Easton got to walk down the big 3rd grade hallway to his classroom and choose any seat he wanted.  Again, it was a quick goodbye!

Ella had gone straight to the library when we walked into the school so we peeked on her on our way out as she prepared for news cast that morning.

I did not expect to be emotional as there was so much excitement leading up to this first day, however, I was a little emotional as I walked out.  My kids are all so independent and love school so much, that drop off was pretty uneventful.  Exactly as I would have hoped, however it just seemed to come and go so quickly!!  I was so thankful for a day at home, to have time to myself as I transitioned from an amazing summer with kids constantly around to a new school year and much more quiet days and extremely busy evenings.

Ella has patrols everyday after school and this first week she has the job of carpool line so we got to see her smiling face as the boys piled in the car.

Since it was still dark when we left for school that morning, we opted for "first day of school pictures" immediately after school.

At the end of the day, it was my 5th grader, instead of my Kindergartener that seemed to be the most tired!  However, on day 2, Asher was asleep for the evening my 6pm!

The first day verdict from all 3 was that they each LOVED their teachers and were super happy!!

Ella liked her teacher and said she is really flexible about things...letting the kids make their own decisions about how things are done.  She was excited to have 3 new girls in their classroom and enjoyed getting to know Valeria.

Easton also really liked his teacher and thinks she is awesome!  He is excited to have his friend Jacob in his classroom.

Asher had a great day and wanted to tell me all the Spanish he learned.  He pulled me into his bedroom after school and counted to ten in Spanish and told me that if you want to respond to someone in Spanish you can just say Sí.  He also met a new friend, Jake and is so excited to have Easton's same Kinder teacher, Mrs. Ortiz.

Friday: Family Date Night

August 24, 2018

Friday morning the kids had a playdate with their best friends and Ella rode her bike to their house for the first time ever.  I followed behind but soon she'll be doing it on her own!!

After a long work week with tax season in full effect, Daddy was ready for a night off, so we had a big end of summer family date night in Southtown!  It was such a fun night for all of us.  We met for dinner at The Patio, had dessert at Steel City Pops and then played at Hemisfaire Park.

Thursday: Meet the Teacher

August 23, 2018

On Thursday, all the kids had haircut appointments, we had a few school supplies left to buy and then it was the much anticipated evening of Meeting their Teachers!  Of course the majority of the attention was on Asher this night with it being his first year of school and Ella and Easton were so supportive of him and sweet!

Ella is in 5th grade with Mrs. Gutierrez and has her friends Addison, Lainey and Sophia in her class.
Easton is in 3rd grade with Ms. Avendano with his friend Jacob.
Asher is in Kindergarten with our beloved Mrs. Ortiz and has a couple of my friends' kids in his class.  Mrs. Ortiz was Eason's kinder teacher and she was amazing!  It was such a blessing to find out she would be Asher's teacher as well.

That night was a little chaotic in the kinder class and Asher was a little shy with Mrs. Ortiz, but loved organizing his supplies and getting settled into his classroom.
