Dear Asher at 4 years old

Dear Asher (aka Superman),

You are the absolute sweetest little boy with the absolute sweetest little smile!  When I saw you playing outside with Easton in your superman gear, I HAD to get my camera and come snap some pictures of you at 4 YEARS OLD!!!  You were so happy to turn 4 and you are already saying that you are "about to be 5".  LOL  You are just so excited to be doing ALL the things that your big brother and sister are doing.  Yet, at the same time, you seem pretty content getting that extra time with Mommy when they are busy with their activities.

Not only do you look like your Daddy (so many people are always commenting that you are his twin), but you also ACT like your daddy in so many ways!  I have a glimpse of what it must have been like to see him as a little boy, because you seem to be so similar.  Your fearless behavior, your sense of humor and your overall personality are just a few areas where we see similarities.

Keep being YOU Asher because we love you just as you are!

^^ cute dirty feet ^^

In typical 4 year old fashion, we ended with you getting upset with your brother and screaming "Butthead....BUTT" in his direction.  Those words just flow out of your mouth when you're mad at Easton specifically, despite our best efforts....and yes, we have to turn our heads and giggle each time.

Dear Easton at 7 years old

Dear Easton,

You are one awesome 7 year old and I adore you!  You have such a sweet, innocent heart and I couldn't be more proud of the little boy that you are. You have just recently learned how to ride Ella's rip stick, so I snapped a few pics of you showing me your new skills one day after school!  I love to watch you play outside and do things that you love.

Some days I look at you and think how much you are growing up and getting big, but other days I look at you and most definitely still see my baby boy.  I think for the age of 7, that's a perfect mix.  :)

I love that you are gaining so much independence and thriving in so many areas as you grow and develop and I also love that you love your mommy so incredibly much and that you love my help and assistance whenever I am able offer it.

Just keep being you!  I love you so much!!!

XOXO - Mommy

Easton's TOP TEN at 7 years old

At the age of SEVEN, these are the TOP TEN things that come to mind when I think of EASTON!

1. Swimming.
Along with Asher he loves to be in the pool!  Any chance he gets, he'll be outside playing on the rafts or in the hot tub with his brother.

2. Legos
When Easton is inside, majority of the time, I find him playing with legos.  Often times, he is laying in his bed just playing with the minifigs, or he'll be playing legos together with Ella or Asher.  And he LOVES to build new sets as well.

3. Being outside and with nature.
Easton is not afraid to get dirty!  He loves to play outside and be surrounded by nature where he can explore and find new things or experiences.

4. Sports/Being Active
Easton enjoys sports but this year I feel like what has stood out to me the most is that he just loves being active, no matter what he is doing!  This year he has played soccer, basketball and some golf.  He enjoys soccer practice but truthfully, isn't very engaged in the games.  It was the same with basketball.  If you were to ask him right now, his favorite sport he says snow skiing and golf!  :)
When it comes to sports at 7 years old, I just think he prefers playing at home with us or with friends over organized sports with a team.

5. Role Models: Carter and Hutson
Easton is so blessed to have TWO amazing 10 year old role models in his life....3 years older than him and he absolutely ADORES them and looks up to them both so much.  Since he is our oldest BOY, I'm so thankful for these two that fill the role of older brother.  Carter really is the closest thing he has to a brother and teaches him so much.  His cousin Hutson is further away in distance, but they pick up just the same when they are together.

6. Asher, his "bro"
I love seeing these two together.  They are best friends.  Often times they are wrestling and rough housing but they have so many sweet moments as well and they have so much fun together.  I think all the time how thankful I am to have 2 kids of the same sex close in age because it really is a special relationship.  Now that Easton's reading has really taken off this year, I love how often he reads to his little brother.

7. Animals
Easton is most definitely our animal lover!  He is such a sweet, sensitive little boy and I love to see him around animals.  He had a hard time when we lost our family dog, Jake, earlier this year but he has an obsession with bulldogs and has talked about getting one ever since!  When I told him probably not, he said, "that's ok, I'll just ask Santa."  When asked his favorite animal, he'll tell you a bison!

8.  Spending time with family
At 7 years old, Easton is still super affectionate. He loves to sit in our laps, hug, kiss, cuddle, etc.  He's the sweetest and I love it!

9. Lots of energy and being rough!!!
No doubt about it, Easton is a typical little boy that likes to be rough!  For his birthday, he got punching gloves and a blow up punching bag because he loves to get his aggression out.  Sometimes it is in the wrong form, so we've taken note that he needs another way to get it out!  When he walks by Ella or Asher, often he just can't help picking on them in some way...

10. School
With regards to school, he seems to love everything about it!  His grades have been exceptional.  He loves his friends.  He loves PE.  His favorite subject is Math and his brain is often thinking in terms of numbers and math and he is also super quick to come up with Math answers in his head.  He loves to go through Math problems and it seems to come easy to him.  When he brings home his homework on Monday afternoons, the Math worksheets are always the first to be completed!

I find him using new trendy words that he hears from his friends at school.  The biggest one is "EPIC" which he picked up one day and now uses a lot!
