***Added some notes and memories at the bottom***
end of May - early September
It's official....Our lake is FULL of water and SUMMER is here! We are excited to spend as much time here as possible this summer. It may be less than 24 hours or it may be a long weekend...either way it's always worth it and we always welcome anyone that can join us.
May 29-20 Starting with the last day of school...we came straight here as soon as school was out!
June 6-7
Megan texted me early Saturday morning inviting me to go on a walk, and I responded....we're at the lake, you should come! A few hours later, she and Delaney were there!
June 13 - We finally fit in a quick graduation gown surf session with Ella...it was short lived and ended once her cap flew off into the water!
Attempting to do a full roll!
June 25-26 - Boys are at camp and we snuck away for a quick trip with Ella to watch the ski show.

Things to remember about this summer of 2026:
-We went to the lake almost any chance we got. Sometimes it was less than 24 hours, sometimes more. Sometimes it was all 5 of us, sometimes less and sometimes more. but we loved how close it was and easy to make the drive.
-Asher surfed a ton...more than wakeboarding and he got pretty good...carving quite a bit.
-Easton learned his power and right away was jumping over the wake. He continued to do so all summer and contemplated going for a flip but hasn't yet. He enjoyed wakeboarding more than surfing but he does it all.
-Ella also does it all and continues to be an amazing surfer....it's definitely her happy place surfing behind the boat. She wanted to learn to comfortably drive the boat this summer as well as pull people and she did great! She even slalomed again one day on a whim.
-Alyssa joined us with Easton multiple times this summer and we were always happy to have her and thankful that her parents trusted us to let her stay with us almost any time she asked. She also learned to surf and it was fun watching her improve each time she came.
-Asher fished a ton....not always having luck but enjoying it anyway.
-I also surfed way more this summer than ever before. Something clicked and I enjoyed it way more than before. I still have SO much to learn and haven't successfully stayed up after dropping the rope, but I don't really care too much. Just a little surfing satisfies me and proves to myself that I can do it!
-Michael continues with his crazy wakeboarding stunts but always pays for it the next few days.
-We love our Blackstone at the lake and made SO MANY incredible meals. As much as we love the lodge, we barely ate there this summer because we preferred to cook at home and we do just about every single meal outside on the griddle.
-It was never just us...we always had family or friends with us which we loved.
-Ella introduced Finn to the Lilly pad and then we couldn't keep him off. He would jump on it, then didn't know how to get off. Once he did get off he wasn't sure where the steps were to get out so usually someone ended up jumping in to direct him where to go. Maybe one day he'll learn!
-We all know what a blessing it is to have the Lakehouse and will forever be grateful for the memories made here.
