With each birthday, it's such a fun time to reflect on each child. Right NOW with Asher at 4 years old, these are the TOP TEN things that come to mind about him. (in no particular order)
1. Swimming - Asher has always been our little fishy and loves the water! Throughout the cooler months, he loves to swim in the hot tub or play on top of the rafts with Easton in the big pool. He recently started swim lessons to hone in on his skills and he was ALL SMILES the entire time. They had a hard time keeping him above water because he was most definitely in his happy place!
He's always been able to get things from the bottom of the hot tub if you give his back a little push, but just this week he was able to dive down all on his own to grab the fishy! He practiced and practiced until he got it and then did it several more times after!

2. Alphabet and Letters - Asher was been obsessed with his letters! singing the alphabet, doing all of his alphabet puzzles, practicing all of his letter sounds and also writing his letters or tracing them on the iPad. Anytime he sees the letter A on something he'll say, "Look Mommy, it says Asher." For Easter he got a big "A" for his bedroom...he has been asking for it for a few weeks...just like the "E" in Easton's room. :)
Recently, he also wants to read TO us. I love to hear his stories as he flips through the pictures on the pages and sometimes he even "reads in his mind" like Ella and Easton. He grabbed a chapter book, held it still close to his face and said, "Mommy, is this how you read in your mind?"
3. Cards, Board Games, and Puzzles - Just over the past 2 months, Asher's interest and ability to play games with us has increased tremendously! He and Easton will sit and play crazy 8 or War together, just the 2 of them. He has loved puzzles for a while now and I have started to get rid of most of our 24 piece puzzles, because he is great at the more challenging ones. His favorite games include: Bingo, War, Crazy 8, and Transformer Matching game

5. Color RED (and his transformers). His Favorite color is and always has been "RED like Heatwave". He chooses his red school shirt any time it is clean and all red is his outfit of choice on the weekends. He points out anything that is red and will always choose that color if given the choice. Recently at Easton's soccer game he kept saying "I want the red team to win!" And I kept reminding him, "NO, you want the your brother's BLUE team to win!!" He also loves spotting certain cars on the street that he calls the transformers....firetrucks are "heatwave", yellow sports cars are "bumblebee"! He get's the most excited each time he finds the yellow bumblebee!

6. Posing for photos - He loves to throw in a silly pose or a silly face everytime time time I take a picture. It's hard to get him to stand normal and smile! But when I look back at these photos, I love that about this personality!
7. Mommy and Daddy - Asher always, always wants Mommy. He'll say "Mommy I want you". He calls me his "sweet, cute Mommy" Recently I had posted to Facebook how he put his hands on my cheek, grabbing my face with both hands and said "You're my sweetie." Kisses me and then says "You're so cute" He melts me everyday and I'm soaking in his affection.
He tends to be on the grumpy side often when dealing with someone other than Mommy. Even at school, they say he can be grumpy. I do remember something similar about Easton at a young age, so hopefully he'll grow out of it sooner than later!!
His favorite things to do with Daddy include: flips, tickle tackle monster game, golf, swimming...those two are so much alike and he is a lucky little boy!

8. Ella and Easton - He is lucky to have these two little role models. Easton is his best friend...they love to be sweet with each other and they love to fight like brothers and be wild and crazy. With Ella, he loves her like a second Mommy. Recently at the dentist, he needed a little help getting through the end of his cleaning. When given the choice between Ella and Mommy to hold his hand, he chose Ella and I loved it.

9. Superman Pajamas - Wears them almost every night and loves to be to Superman to Ella's princess. If you ask him what he wanted to be when he grows up, he consistently answer's "Superman!"
10. Delaney and his friends - Asher loves Delaney so much! They are the closest little friends and I love watching their dynamic. He always asks to go to Lainey's house to play. They get to see each other every day at school and so much outside of school as well but he still asks to go see her often. He calls her "Lainey Brownie" and he loves her so much!
Also, he has no trouble meeting friends at the playground and having fun playing with new people. Recently they were playing outside at Chuy's and a little boy was near. I heard Asher very casually say "Hi, what's your name?"
