1. Mommy and Daddy
Asher is such a sweet sweet boy and ALWAYS tells me he loves me, usually out of the blue. "I love you Momma." The sweetest little words to my ears.
2. Sisty and Bubba
3. Friends - Delaney, Cason, and neighbors
Every single day Asher is talking about his friends. After spending all day with Delany at school, he'll regularly ask to go to her house in the afternoon. And when we go by to pick up Addison for soccer car pool they act like they haven't seen each other in forever, even though its been just a couple of hours. Cason is his other best friend from school and he talks about him everyday, even though they aren't in the same class anymore. Asher is also obsessed with our neighbors who moved in across the street almost a year ago. Twice recently, he got in trouble for going over there without asking or telling anyone!! Mr. Independent.
4. Legos and Independent Play with his toys
In general, Asher loves to play with his toys. Whether its transformers, alphabets, or legos, he'll pull them out to play for a bit and then clean up right after. (Except for legos, those stay out most of the time). In his free time, I usually find him playing legos...with or without Easton. They love to make their own creations. I love seeing him play and the imagination he uses with little stories and talking back and forth amongst the characters.
5. Goofy, Outgoing personality
Asher is very outgoing and you never quite know what he will say. He is wild and loud and lots of fun! He makes new friends easily and typically does really well even in new situations, but does sometimes have shy moments too.
6. Watching a "show"
Asher loves to "watch a show". Ninjago, paw patrol, wild kratts, and transformers are some favorites. He says "movies are boring" and prefers the shorter TV shows. I love when they sit so close to each other, despite having a whole living room of furniture. :)
7. Sports: Soccer and Swim Team
We always told Asher he could start sports when he turned 5 and he hasn't wasted any time! Soccer started 2 weeks before his birthday and swim team started 2 weeks after. He LOVED the soccer season and was extremely proud to have a team of his own. After 2 years of watching Ella and Easton on swim team and wanting to join along, he was finally old enough to join the team by just 5 weeks! The youngest one out there, he made the team and has been all smiles the whole time.
8. Fridays (show and share days) / Yellow and Red days
Asher LOVES Fridays at school when he gets to bring something special from home to share with his friends. He is constantly talking about the days of the weeks and whether its a red day or a yellow day (which corresponds to their daily calendar at school). On Monday he asked me "What's tomorrow?" When I answered "Tuesday", he said, "And that's close to Friday, right?"
9. Sneaks in our bed at night
He is the sweetest cuddler and I don't complain on the nights that he sneaks into our bed, usually in the early early morning.
10. Good eater
Asher has been obsessed with dried mango over the past few weeks. And in general is a great eater.
Other sweet things about Asher:
-Always reminds us to pray before we eat and he also likes to be the one to say the prayer.
-When he falls asleep in the car, I can still easily transfer him to his bed and he will get a good long nap.
-His personality is SO much like Michael's....very outgoing, loves crazy and wild things
-He is a helper. Especially when it is just the two of us, Asher loves to help Mommy with carrying things.
A few funny things he has said just this month of April:
-"What kind of head did you have when you were a kid? And what kind of face?"
-"I think everyone should have a cross in their house to show how much they love Jesus and stuff."
-"I love spending the day with you when it's just the two of us and you don't have so much to take care of like Ella and Easton and stuff."
-"I'm just the smartest one in our family, right? Everyone else is still smart but I'm just the smartest. Because I know all my rhyming words and stuff."
-"I like Daddy better because sometimes he lets me sit in a booster seat and you never do."
-"Mommy, I really want to go back to bed, but my brain is saying no."
